The product
Among a number of highly specialised industrial and commercial printers for emerging applications, TTP has developed an inkjet printer for creating passive electronic components on PCB panels for leading European printed circuit board manufacturer AT&S.

TTP’s role

AT&S selected TTP as we not only had the necessary specialist inkjet experience but we also had the scientific strength to contribute to the specification of the equipment at the system design stage. TTP helped define the open areas of the specification and completed all the detailed development work to produce this unique print system.

TTP implemented several unusual features to make this equipment fit for purpose. These included the capability to adjust every single inkjet nozzle separately for drop size or speed and the ability to compensate for errors in the substrate such as stretching and connection pad misplacement.

Designed to be used safely by scientific researchers the system was built and tested at TTP before shipping to Austria where it has performed several years of service enabling unique research into this emerging technology.
