TTP's combination of optical design skills and instrument engineering expertise allows us to develop high performance turnkey solutions for the instrumentation markets. By applying the breadth of our knowledge, instruments can be realised that offer higher performance, reduced size, lower cost and improved ease of use.

For example, we worked with IDEXX to develop the SnapShot DX instrument, a second-generation instrument platform recently launched in the veterinary healthcare market.

SnapShot DX incorporates an LED/CCD based vision system to provide quantitative and qualitative data from a lateral flow immunoassay test device. Our expertise in optical design and vision has enabled a simple, compact and low cost illumination and imaging system for reading the assay, without sacrificing instrument performance and flexibility. Other features such as the loading mechanism for the test device ensure ease of use and reliable operation.

The resulting product offers radical improvements over the first generation product in terms of usability, flexibility, reliability and ease of manufacture. It also provides a platform for future commercialisation of new diagnostic tests.
