As an Optical Engineer at TTP, you’ll get to design, model, and develop new optical systems. The invention process can involve investigating a proof of concept, creating a novel prototype, or refining a product until it’s ready for production.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll get to work with global leaders and start-up companies to develop solutions in drug delivery, ophthalmic devices, optometry, surgical systems, and telehealth. What you’re working on will vary depending on the client’s requirements, but it will typically include:
- Working on projects as an optical engineer for the Eyecare Team. There will also be opportunities to apply your broader physics or engineering skills to other projects across TTP.
- The opportunity to lead technical workstreams and (possibly as a growth area) projects which will be interdisciplinary.
- Regular interactions with clients to develop fruitful project partnerships.
- Developing working relationships with potential clients by helping them plan new projects.
Requirements
Consultancy work at TTP involves more than technical research and development. You’ll lean into your ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to colleagues and clients from diverse fields of expertise. Your naturally curious mindset will help you tackle complex challenges at the leading edge of innovation.
To be shortlisted for an interview, your CV will need to include:
- Academic excellence. A 1st or upper 2nd class degree or equivalent in a physical science or engineering.
- A PhD or equivalent industrial, academic or commercial R&D experience.
- Experience in modelling physical systems using either commercial or custom software.
- Experience in optical system design and applying experimental skills.
