Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Precision Devices  

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with an innate feel for precision design experience to play a crucial role in advancing our mission. 

You’ll take on a key role in creating robust, manufacturable detailed designs for our robotic manufacturing system. As a senior designer you’ll be given autonomy and responsibility to design critical modules, leveraging your expertise to swiftly guide us towards stable and reliable solutions.

  • A strong background in Engineering, gained either by degree or vocational route.   
  • Proven, hands-on experience developing and delivering products into manufacture.  
  • Able to construct detailed tolerance analyses and use appropriate analytical techniques to aid your design work.  
  • Highly skilled and fast in the use of 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks).  
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in complex precision devices in the 10’s-microns to 10’s-mm length-scale. 
  • Deep experience of material and manufacturing method selection. 
  • The ability to translate devices from ‘works’ to ‘works all the time’  
  • Experience gained within the following industries are likely to have provided relevant experience: medical devices, consumer product, automotive, aerospace, digital printing.

There’ll be a couple of stages to your interview

There are two stages to our interview process for graduates, and one stage for interns. For both of those roles, there are usually a number of one-to-one interviews with our consultants. We focus on your technical abilities and consumer awareness and use our interviews to see how you’d fit into TTP.

We hold our interviews at TTP Campus in Melbourn

On the outskirts of Cambridge. The interview process is usually around a couple of hours and it’ll include technical problem-solving style questions.

We’ll cover expenses for your interview

Which includes cost of your return travel to the interview. If you need to stay overnight in Melbourn, let us know in advance and we can organise something.

After the interviews, you’ll hear back from us in a few days

It’ll normally take a few weeks to finish the interviews, but this can sometimes take a little longer depending on how busy we are.

If you fit the criteria, we can cover relocation costs up to £20,000

But before you start, we’ll discuss this together to see if you fit the criteria.
