As a Consultant Chemist, you will be working alongside specialists to develop new products and solutions for clients around the world. For instance, development of new bioanalytical hardware could require you to operate at the interface between reagent design, consumable operation and system engineering. There are opportunities to develop your skills in experimental design, analytical tools, technical leadership, product development, business development and client interaction. At TTP you have the freedom, as you grow into the role, to propose and develop entirely new technological and commercial offerings - with experience, your combination of increasing market and technology insight should enable you to uncover valuable new business opportunities and even new areas of business.

In summary, we are looking for candidates with a desire to contribute to complex, ground-breaking, applied science and instrumentation, creating novel technologies for our clients in areas such as ultra-sensitive diagnostics, drug discovery, miniaturised biological and chemical platforms, and new analytical tools. In this role, you will be able to use your chemistry knowledge and experience to solve problems during the product development cycle. As an ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An excellent academic record and a PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • A solid knowledge base demonstrating a good grasp of the scientific principles.
  • An ability to drill deep, evidenced by a PhD in an exciting area of experimental science and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • A hands-on attitude. You enjoy taking your theories into the lab and putting them to the test.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative nature to work in interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers, communicating directly with clients.
  • Proven experience developing novel ideas and technologies in areas such as surface and bio-conjugation chemistry, biophysics, biosensing, development of drug discovery platforms, applied electrochemistry will be desirable.
  • Drive to take on new responsibilities, seek challenging objectives, and pursue them with tenacity and pragmatism.
