TTP plc. Contract 2021-11-17

Desktop Support Engineer (6 Month FTC)

  • Location
    Cambridge, United Kingdom

At TTP you’ll get to make a significant contribution. Your work will help facilitate life-changing inventions in health tech, life science, and engineering. As a Desktop Support Engineer (second line), you’ll get to work on an interesting variety of hardware and software challenges. With every solution you find, you’ll be helping our scientists and engineers towards the next breakthrough discovery.

You won’t get bored at TTP. From day one, you’ll get to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve a wide range of issues, including; Microsoft Office 365, Teams telephony, Active Directory and Group Policy, Windows 10 desktop, Windows server, networking, and cyber security. To succeed in the role, you’ll lean on your good working knowledge of these software packages whilst prioritising and managing multiple open tickets.

And, whenever you need it, you’ll be guided and supported by colleagues in the IT Team. All the while, you’ll benefit from exposure to a highly technical environment using cutting edge technologies.

The role is primarily focused on providing remote helpdesk support, although up to 50% of the work takes place at workstations to diagnose and resolve faults. You’ll also get involved in desktop rebuilds and hardware resolutions as well as providing software support.

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy experimenting and if you’re ready to share your knowledge and learn with colleagues. If you know how a busy Cambridge science park operates, you’ll have a distinct advantage. Equally, you’ll have the freedom and opportunities for professional development.

TTP is an employee-owned business operating from green surroundings on Melbourn Science Park, 10 miles south of Cambridge. We’re currently building new purpose-built, sustainable offices and labs in the same location.

Our working culture encourages shared ideas and technical collaboration whilst providing you with the freedom to do your best work. We offer employee benefits such as 25 days holiday (pro rata for this 6 month fixed term contract) and a cycle to work scheme, plus:
