Electronics Engineer - TTP Ventus

  • Location
    Cambridge, United Kingdom

Description

What’s small, silent, and enables life-changing innovation? At TTP Ventus, it’s our micropump. Launched in 2018, our pumps and smart pump modules have already made their way into a wide range of medical and life science products - and we have hundreds of further customers evaluating our technology for new products. As a result, the demand for new pump drive PCBs and modules is escalating fast – so we’re scaling up our electronics capabilities in response. That’s where you fit in.

Join our close-knit team and you’ll take a hands-on but leading role across all of our electronics activities. It’ll mean that our micropumps can enable even more cutting-edge innovation across the medical, life science, environmental and industrial sectors. They’re already in an extraordinary range of inventions - such as a breathalyser that’ll test for cancer, a novel treatment for sleep apnoea, and a hospital-grade vital signs monitor. The potential for our technology is huge. So, your work will make a genuine and meaningful impact.

You’ll be entrusted to own and build Ventus’ expertise in driving resonant piezoelectric devices. The goal is to develop and expand our range of driver board and module products, also providing deep technical support to our customers. This will accelerate our journey towards international business growth.

To do this you’ll collaborate closely with our R&D team on fundamental research to optimise performance of our pump-plus-electronics electromechanical system. You’ll lead the development of new electronic products and their transfer to manufacture. You’ll support our production team in managing our electronics suppliers.

In addition, you’ll sometimes provide electronics and software support to our manufacturing operation.

This role is an opportunity to contribute to the expansion and success of a high-value manufacturing business. You’ll get to lead a key technology platform within the business and develop and deliver the new products that will support our growth.

Requirements

If you’re fluent in developing embedded systems and comfortable simulating electronics systems in SPICE, it’s likely you’ll be shortlisted for an interview.

To succeed in the role, you’ll need to be degree educated (or equivalent) and have a solid understanding of electronics design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and embedded C. Experience programming in C# / WPF / WinForms / Python and of electronics product regulations will be an advantage.

Attitude matters at TTP Ventus. Your demonstrable enthusiasm for embedded systems, creativity, and willingness to get involved in new things will give your application the edge.
