Lead Biologist / Cytometrist - Cellular Highways

Cellular Highways Ltd is building a new generation of cell sorter instruments for cell therapies, cancer treatment and other biotech applications. We invented a new microfluidics sorting technology, vortex actuated cell sorting (VACS), that allows us to reduce the cost and complexity of cell sorting and achieve far greater throughput than existing platforms. Our aim is to make cell sorting accessible to every laboratory as well as enabling new clinical applications.

We are a spin-out company from TTP plc (The Technology Partnership) an established technology consulting firm with a successful track record of launching new businesses with disruptive technologies.

Are you looking for an exciting role in a well-funded biotech start-up?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a talented scientist, with a strong background in immunology, cytometry or cell therapy, who is keen to progress their career developing a new technology for a range of biotech applications.

From the start, you will work in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary team in improving our instrument prototypes, you will lead application development with our beta users and help us present the company at conferences and shows.


To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • An excellent academic background in the biological sciences
  • Experience as either a core cytometrist or a ‘power user’ of cell sorting instrumentation
  • Knowledge of cell sorting & cytometry standards, protocols and best practices
  • Excellent hands-on cell biology / immunology lab skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Additionally, the following would be desirable:

  • A PhD and research experience in a field related to immunology or cell therapy
  • In-depth technical knowledge of cytometry and sorting instrumentation
