Manufacturing Engineer - Tonejet
Cambridge, United Kingdom
The artwork on a can of craft beer is often as appealing as the drink itself. It’s innovative, edgy, and completely unique - just like Tonejet’s beverage printing technology. Join us as a Manufacturing Engineer, and you’ll get to improve the production of our pioneering Cyclone digital printing systems.
Our printing technology was created from scratch. No one has done it quite like us before – so you’ll get to make a meaningful contribution to the product development. The sense of job satisfaction and achievement is tangible with each new machine delivery.
You’ll be joining us as we journey into the next stage of scaling up - creating new machines for customers in the UK, Canada and the USA. It’s interesting, innovative, and technically challenging work.
The goal is to provide our customers with machines that will deliver mass customisation and ultra-short print runs with no label waste, pin-sharp print quality and low running costs.
You’ll be working with a highly supportive and multi-disciplined team and reporting to the Production Manager. We’re constantly learning from each other every step of the way.
You’ll have opportunities to get involved in everything from ECN (engineering change) through to leading NPI (new product introduction) activities and DfMA (design for manufacture and assembly). You’ll get to use SolidWorks CAD (mechanical and electrical) to enable work in ECN and DfMA. CAD is also used to carry out minor manufacturing-led changes and plan for new product introductions. Another key focus of the role will involve creating and modifying BOMs (Sage, SAP, or Info/Syteline) using the ERP system.
We operate in a quality-driven high-value, low volume machinery manufacturing environment – so we’ll always be open to listening to your ideas for improvements and efficiencies.
The starting point at Tonejet is that we trust you. So there’s no probation period and no ‘newbie’ status. You’ll be a valued member of the team from day one.
