Industrials
Developing market-leading solutions for industry.
Industrial processes are evolving, driven by technological advances such as digitalisation, and shaped by growing sustainability, environmental, and regulatory pressures. These forces create opportunities for innovators to deliver differentiated solutions that offer tighter control, greater operational efficiency, cleaner and safer operations, and deeper process insight with time-critical responsiveness.

Innovation
A common theme amongst our clients is the challenge to balance meeting urgent demands with investing in tomorrow’s important breakthroughs. This is sometimes further complicated by a history of M&A, resulting in legacy systems with gaps in institutional knowledge, and overly stretched teams. Meanwhile, rising tariffs and the shift toward onshoring are placing new pressures on product margins. By offering the space, time and resources to both innovate and reduce time to market is where we step in. We understand the trade-space in industrial product engineering, generally characterised by lower production volumes, stringent quality and regulatory requirements and long product lifecycles.
Our work spans a broad range of sectors, from high-energy foundation industries to environmental monitoring and metrology, through to some of the most technologically advanced fields, such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

The new gas conditioning units were tested and certified as ready for trials on the UK gas network by TTP and delivered to Cadent in 2018.

Industrial processes
Industrial manufacturing integrates people, machines, and processes to transform raw materials into finished products efficiently and at scale. They encompass everything from production equipment, automation, and control technologies to supply chain management, quality assurance, and the data systems that keep operations running smoothly. Well-designed industrial systems enhance productivity, reduce costs, ensure consistent quality, and safeguard both personnel and the environment. Partner with us to design and develop the next generation of industrial processes.

Industrial product development
Our hard-won expertise in new product development (NPD) is critical in our ability to deliver innovative, commercially viable industrial products that meet stringent performance, quality, and safety standards. We integrate cutting-edge technologies and optimise production methods to ensure cost-effective, purpose-fit solutions.
Sustaining innovation is often needed to keep products relevant and competitive, whilst their long product lifecycles can make them susceptible to component obsolescence risks.
We solve complex engineering challenges and deliver competitive product designs for our clients from initial idea, through to commercialisation, specialising in areas such as sensor technology, thermal design, fluid handling and hazardous environment certification.
How we can help
New product development
We partner with our clients throughout the full innovation cycle, from initial idea conception to successful commercialisation, delivering expert guidance and tailored solutions to bring your products to market.
Our expertly managed end-to-end new product development services cover every essential phase: concept generation, advanced modelling and optimisation, detailed design and prototyping, DFMA, value engineering, and validation and verification to meet relevant standards and regulatory approvals.
Innovation for processes
Today’s industries demand bold ideas and meaningful impact. We develop unique solutions for our clients that keep their products ahead of the competition. By blending creative thinking with rigorous analysis, advanced modelling, and commercial insight, we turn ambitious concepts into groundbreaking products and processes.
Exploring the future of sensing
Sensors are the backbone of modern industrial systems, enabling precise process control, workplace safety, and seamless interaction between the physical and digital worlds. We develop novel sensing technologies based on wide ranging modalities including optical, acoustic and electromagnetic, and take them from concept through to commercial devices and industrial-grade instruments. Our solutions address real-world commercial need, from analysing gas composition to monitoring levels in multi-phase reaction vessels, and detecting food adulteration.
Engineering backed by science
Our multidisciplinary engineering approach is under-pinned by rigorous scientific analysis and multi-physics computational modelling, using both in-house code and commercial packages. Our team is skilled in simulating a wide range of interacting physical processes-including thermal, optical, acoustic, fluid dynamic and multi-phase flow, including powders and dense suspensions. These tools allow us to explore, optimise and refine concepts before physical prototyping, providing valuable insights into process sensitivities and scaling laws.
Optical physics & engineering
Many of assignments are rooted in optical physics, optoelectronics, and opto-mechanics. Our team of optical engineers and physicists design, simulate, prototype, and industrialise complex solutions, advancing the next generation of imaging, metrology and spectroscopy technologies. This expertise is applied across wide domains, from precision particle characterisation instruments through to compact projection optics for augmented reality eyewear.
Precision droplet engineering
Droplet generation and atomisation underpin a wide range of industrial processes from material deposition to powder production. We bring deep expertise in precision droplet engineering, delivering high-efficiency material deposition, for challenging or non-standard materials. Our patented technologies have been commercialised across several sectors, including spray drying, industrial coatings, automotive and aerospace paints, and medical applications such as drug delivery.
Product lifecycle management
Managing a broad portfolio of mature products brings unique challenges in sustaining production, sales volume and margin. Component obsolescence and shortages, regulatory changes and emergence of lower cost competitors can all have a significant impact requiring rapidly developed and cost-effective solutions. TTP supports its clients in managing products throughout their lifecycle-updating designs to address changes in component availably, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, and extending the lifetime of products with minimal intervention.
