Cambridge, UK, 21st July 2026: TTP plc, a leading technology and product development services company with deep expertise across satellite, cellular and defence communications, today announced it membership in the Mobile Satellite Services Association (MSSA). MSSA is an industry effort to develop, promote and advance the emerging ecosystem for advanced Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) services, including direct-to-device (D2D) and IoT for consumer, commercial, civil and government applications globally.
MSSA, launched in February 2024, seeks to facilitate and accelerate the integration and evolution of terrestrial and non-terrestrial network services leveraging 3GPP mobile standards. The Association’s members, along with other ecosystem players, work collectively to support scalable, sustainable and affordable connectivity to devices on land, in the air and at sea. This connectivity is often in the context of safety services, which are so important in supporting the ongoing allocation of MSS spectrum.
TTP joins MSSA as satellite and terrestrial communications continue to converge, creating new opportunities across D2D, IoT, hybrid networks, government and defence communications, and MILSAT-type services. As these markets move from standards and trials towards deployment, operators, terminal manufacturers, payload developers and service providers will need architectures that can support today’s requirements and networks and provide an upgrade path to future 5G NTN based connectivity.
