Next-generation devices for retinal drug delivery

Retinal cell and gene therapies are progressing rapidly, but delivering these complex biologics to the retina remains technically challenging. Current surgical approaches are invasive, resource-intensive, and difficult to scale. In this video, Ben Hatton from our Drug Delivery team explores the device innovations needed to enable safer, more precise retinal access with minimal trauma. Future solutions will require integrated systems combining access, stabilisation, imaging, and controlled drug delivery to support the next generation of ophthalmic therapies.
